Audible Complexity

The science of complex systems is an extremely inter-disciplinary field of science. It studies the properties and phenomena emerged from collectives of units interacting with each other or the surrounding environment. Their existence is ubiquitous. From climate sciences, biology, social sciences, economics to cosmology, the effects of complex system are present, e. g. non-linearity, self-organization, feedback, etc. This project will construct kinetic sound installations physical model in complex science. The spatial dynamics of interacting units will be translated into sound with the granular synthesis technique. We investigate how complex phenomena will emerge visually and auditorily from the installations, as well as discussing the emergent aesthetics.
