Leader/ Ivan Liu, PhD

Ivan is an artist and a researcher. He studied physics at Imperial College London, and subsequently obtained his PhD from Max-Planck Institute for the Physics of Complex Systems in Germany. He worked as an independent artist for 10 years before becoming Assistant Professor at the National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (NYCU) in Taiwan, where he founded the Future Narratives Lab. He was a resident artist at iMAL (BE) in 2014. His current works explore new ways to narrate contemporary issues with science-inspired artistic representations. He enjoys engaging the public and making them wonder about the internal mechanism of our world and how all things are connected by simple and elegant ideas.  His works have been exhibited in renowned venues such as IRCAM (FR), Chroniques Biennales (FR), ISEA 2025 (KR), LEV Festival (ES), National Taiwan Museum of Fine Art (TW), and Kaohsiung Museum of Fine Art (TW), as well as collected by institutions such as Imperial College London, National Taiwan University, and Le Meridien Taipei. He regularly publishes academic articles in international journal and conferences, and serves as a reviewer for them. He is also a juror for the National Culture and Arts Foundation (Taiwan).

He is also the Founder of art collective  Legacy Lab International.
